One Hot Orchid Society
Newsletter January 2006
MEETING:
8 Jan 2006, 2:00 pm Mills Godwin Auditorium at ODU. Mark Werther, of
Sentinel Orchids , and the designer of the Kaplan Conservatory will be here to
speak about Broughtonias.
The year is coming to a close. It has been an
exiting and eventful one for the society. I would like to thank all the
committee members for the work they have done the past year. They are the people
behind the scenes that help to keep things going smoothly. I would also like to
thank all the people that have bought their beautiful orchids for us to admire.
The Orchid
Society Dinner and Awards meeting went very well. As usual the Chef cooked tons
of good food for us. The desserts made me hungry just looking at them. I want to
congratulate the Walch's, De Coudre's and Adair's for winning certificates in
various categories and for the DeCoudre's, Walch,s and Adair's being the overall
winners of the prize's in that order. As usual the members bought orchids for us
to admire, made all the more presentable because they were displayed rather
attractively in baskets.
Our next
meeting is the Second Sunday of the New Year, January 8th 2006. You voted
to meet at the Mills Godwin Auditorium so let us continue to have good crowds at
these meetings.
