President’s Message
January brought us a
wonderful lecture on the beautiful large flowered cattleyas. Afterwards a core
group of members stayed to discuss involvement in future shows.
February will be a busy month with The Home and Flower Show and The
Virginia Orchid Society's Show in Richmond. Please get involved and show your
support for both of these projects.
Also take this opportunity to talk to committee chairmen if you want to
have input into budgets and spending. Committee chairmen, please consider what
your committee needs as far as future funds. Forward these requests to the
treasurer.

We’ll have
an information table at the show but we need volunteers to talk to people about
our society and goals, and to take names and e mails for further info. Sign-up
sheets will be available at the February meeting for two hour shifts, two to a
shift. So if you like talking about orchids, consider a couple of shifts. It’s
always fun.
