President's Message:

Spring is finally here, and I think we are all really ready for it.  I look forward to seeing everyone at the April meeting.  We will be voting for our slate of officers for 2005/6 and our budget for 2005/6.  I would like to thank the members of the nominating committee and the budget committee for their work on our behalf.

The board will be discussing many things at their March meeting.  Hopefully we will have some information about future meeting locations and future education classes for you soon.

Plato’s Recipe for Cypress Mulch Potting Medium:

First you buy a 2 cubic feet bag of cypress mulch form a garden center (Lowe’s and Home Depot are inexpensive.)
Add one 5-gallon bucket of good, horticultural grade peat moss to mulch. Mix well.
Next add ½ of a 5-gallon bucket of perlite (maybe adjusted to your watering regimen.) Mix well again.
Pot your plants as you normally would.

Plato’s watering regimen:   He waters four times with fertilizer, then the fifth he uses only water.
